Another Primm race is in the record books. What a great weekend of racing. An NSDA record 451 entries turned out for the biggest race of the Spring. All of the west coast regulars were there along with a lot of cars we haven’t seen in a while, and a few cars that came in from far distances away. The racing on the track was safe, despite a couple wild rides. Fortunately, Dan Allen and Charlie Brown were none the worse for wear after their incidents. It was a great weekend for the sport with all of the racers coming together and putting on a show that was second to none.
The month of May will be extremely busy for NSDN. We are heading out to San Jacinto, CA for NSDA’s fifth point series race of the season May 9-11. Our next outing will be May 23-25 for Atoka Motorsports Park’s Heartland Nationals. These two events should provide for some excellent racing. We should also have results from West Michigan Sand Dragway’s season opener on May 24, and maybe some coverage from their final Test and Tune May 17. We were at the May 3 WMSD Test and Tune, however rainy weather made for poor pictures and video. A turnout of approximately 30 entries took to the track, including a couple of mud Jeeps with huge Bogger tires on the back. One of these Jeeps laid down a 3.79 while I was there, and reportedly dipped into the 3.6’s later in the day. Maybe these guys are on to something?
This month we continued our new “Racer Blog” feature with entries by Joey Weaver and Mike DeNunzio of Team Canidae. If you are interested in submitting a blog chronicling the events that you participate at, feel free to contact me for details. This is a good way to show how your weekend goes, thank your crew, and get more exposure for your sponsors.
We are also continuing a search for marketing partners for our NSDN Daily Coverage for the remainder of the 2008 season. There is a “Summer Special” being offered right now, inquire for details. Let’s all have a fun, and safe month of racing.
Until next month…
