With a tough month of September behind us, October is upon us and the biggest sand drag race of the season is coming up. The NSDA Primm Valley Resorts Fall Nationals goes off October 15-19 in Primm, NV. This race is also the final event of the 2008 NSDA Point Series season. A twist in the race schedule sees two full races within the weekend for most classes. With point series championships at play and many racers from across the country showing up to play spoiler, this has the makings to be one of the most entertaining sand drag races in history.

NSDN will be on-site with coverage from Primm starting on October 16. To become a part of our Daily Race Coverage sponsorship, email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. Without a boost in sponsorship, we will not be able to maintain the same level of coverage we have in the past. Contact NSDN if interested in supporting what we are doing for the sport.

Here are some quick notes from September. Congrats go out to Tom Hartman and Rich Wood, who won their respective point series championships at WMSD. Both of these racers have been around for a long time and were truly the class of the field in 2008. I mentioned this in my racer blog from this month, but an interesting fact about Tom Hartman's second championship is that his first one at WMSD came twenty years ago in 1988. Another round of props goes out to NSDN contributor, Dan Wies, who recently lowered his B/4WD E.T. record at Thunder Valley's BAD II race. Some of the winners at the B.A.D. II event were David Hauser (Top Alcohol and Friday's Top Eliminator), Terry Glasscock (Saturday's Top Eliminator), and John Dreher (Pro Comp). Also, if you have not checked it out yet, our partner site Sand Drag Central has its new forum online at www.sanddragcentral.net.

Thanks for all of your support throughout the 2008 season. NSDN will keep plugging away trying to promote and build the sport of sand drag racing. Until next month...
