tbjeeplead.jpgWelcome to the 2010 sand drag racing season. I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I know it was definitely frigid and snowy here in MI. This is the type of weather that really kicks in the racing withdrawals. The thought that big events are right around the corner is what gets us by. Luckily for the west coast guys, they are able to enjoy the dunes during the off season and are readying for the kick off to their new race season shortly. Let’s take a look at some of the early season events.

The NSDA kicks off on March 19-21 at their new facility on the grounds of the Lucas Oil Motorsports Complex in Lake Elsinore, CA. This highly anticipated new venue should be a great addition to sand drag racing. The proximity to racers and fans in the Southern California area means that the sky is the limit for this track. With the NSDA season kicking off in March, this opens the door for many of the other west coast tracks/promoters to hold events to kick off the season. Dome Valley Raceway in Wellton, AZ is holding a Test and Tune January 16 as well as a Test and Tune event February 4-6. Another Arizona track, ET Motopark in Queen Creek, AZ is holding Test and Tune days on February 20 and March 27. The first actual races of the 2010 season will be held by Fast Track Racing at the AVI Casino in Laughlin, NV on January 29-30 and February 26-27. These events should provide a good kickoff to the 2010 race season.
