The month of September is upon us, which means that even though we are rapidly heading towards the end of the 2008 sand drag racing season some of the season's biggest races are just ahead of us. We have to look no further than the Inaugural event at Ionia Sand Drags in Ionia, MI. This event looks to be the largest race of 2008 east of the Mississippi. NSDN will be on site with all of the latest updates the weekend of September 12 and 13.

So, then the focus moves on to two large events the next weekend. NSDA kicks off the second half of its 2008 season at the all new Mystic Lake Fair and Sand Drag Expo in San Jacinto, CA. This should be an exciting event with the promise of it being a fast track and points races on the line. NSDN will also be on site covering this race over that weekend. The other large event on that weekend is in Grain Valley, MO, just outside of Kansas City, at Thunder Valley Sand Drags' BAD 2 event. The Thunder Valley track is one of the fastest tracks in the country and should play host to some of the fastest Top Alcohol dragsters in the country. Through our contributors, we'll have coverage of this event.

All of this excitement in September leads us up to the biggest sand drag event of the year in October, the NSDA Primm Valley Resorts Spring Nationals. This event always has a certain feel to it that is unlike anything seen in the sport. This year should be interesting with an improved race surface and racers from all across the country battling it out for the race wins.

Even though we are winding down 2008, things are definitely not slowing down in the sand drag racing world. Stay tuned with us over the next few weeks for all of the latest news and results from across the country. Until next month...
