National Sand Drag News - NEW National Sand Drag News (NSDN) is an online magazine covering the sport of sand drag racing. NSDN’s full array of up to the minute news and race coverage can be found online at www.NationalSandDragNews.com. Here is a brief explanation of what NSDN covers. The fast growing motor sport of sand drag racing consists of race cars that are very similar to their asphalt drag racing counterparts racing down 300 feet long (100 yard) tracks with a sand/dirt surface. The headliners of the show are the Nitro-burning Top Fuel dragsters that cross the finish line in under 2.5 seconds and reach speeds in excess of 160 MPH. Although the Top Fuel cars are the headliners of the show, multitudes of grass roots bracket racers compile the largest racer group in the sand. NSDN focuses on the hottest properties in sand drag racing, including coverage of the Pro Truck Nationals (PTN) series and other large independent events. Other large independent races across the country are also covered. NSDN covers these events with live race updates, race results, news, features, race videos, and photos. https://nsdn.us/index.php 2024-07-16T03:03:45+00:00 National Sand Drag News editor@nsdn.us Joomla! - Open Source Content Management WMSD June 2 Results 2007-06-04T01:49:21+00:00 2007-06-04T01:49:21+00:00 https://nsdn.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=54&catid=19&Itemid=41 Administrator editor@nsdn.us Top Eliminator
1st-Nick Vanderputte
2nd-Troy Turnock

Pro Index
1st-Dawn Turnock
2nd-Matt Peel
3rd-Mike Bolyard

Pro Comp
1st-Fred Hugo
2nd-Randi Vsetula
3rd-Carrie Holbert
Top Eliminator
1st-Nick Vanderputte
2nd-Troy Turnock

Pro Index
1st-Dawn Turnock
2nd-Matt Peel
3rd-Mike Bolyard

Pro Comp
1st-Fred Hugo
2nd-Randi Vsetula
3rd-Carrie Holbert
Atoka Heartland Nationals May 26 Results 2007-05-28T22:32:37+00:00 2007-05-28T22:32:37+00:00 https://nsdn.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=53&catid=19&Itemid=41 Administrator editor@nsdn.us The Heartland Nationals at Atoka Motorsports Park was rained out on Sunday. Bracket racing is an economical way to get your foot in the door and can teach you important driving lessons such as consistent staging, cutting good reaction times, and driving the finish line. It can also teach you how to build a reliable race car. While some view bracket racing as a stepping stone into higher levels of the sport, there are those that feel there’s no other racing except bracket racing. In asphalt drag racing promoters have recognized this phenomenon and started putting on huge bracket programs with large payouts, and big incentives to draw in more racers. Some tracks are awarding new cars and trailers to point winners. On almost any given weekend you can find a “big money” asphalt bracket race somewhere in the country.

BY: MIKE ELLINGTON

All of us in drag racing, whether it be sand or asphalt, know that bracket racing is the backbone of our sport. If you were to ask racers what their favorite part of the sport is, a lot of people would say going fast or winning but a large group would say it’s the people. I would have to agree with the latter answer in that there just aren’t better people out there than those involved in sand drag racing.
