March Madness at Dome Valley Raceway saw some amazing racing action under sunny skies in Southwestern Arizona. Dennis Rieck emerged the Top Fuel Winner in a great side-by-side final round against Matthew Ludlow 2.36 to 2.39. Billy Morris and the Morris Family Racing team stayed undefeated with their third straight win of 2013 as they defeated Dee Trower in final round holeshot victory 3.01 to 2.95. Charlie Johnson was the winner of the NSRA/Quality Aircraft Care Bonus Bucks $500 Bonus for his win in the Pro 3 class. Other big winners on the day included Rod Trower (Top Alcohol), John Cronin (Fast Fours), Bill Meaney (Pro 1), Jose Beas (Pro 2), Brad Olson (Motorcycle Pro 1), Garrett Ratliff (Motorcycle Pro 2), Ryan Rodriguez (Junior Dragster), and Gage Van Horn (Youth). SCSDA Soboba Mar '13 Race Recap

The Southern California Sand Drag Association (SCSDA) held their Season Opener event over the first weekend of March. Chamber of commerce weather greeted everyone at the Soboba Casino for what would be the second points race for the 2013 NSRA Quality Aircraft Care point series. Avenal Sand Drags in Avenal, CA is preparing to host their first event of the 2013 season on April 27-28. This event will be the 5th of 7 in the 2013 NSRA Quality Aircraft Care Sand Drag Series. Atoka March '13 Race Results

The 2013 season for Atoka Motorsports Park in Atoka, OK kicked off on March 9. Unfortunately, weather didn't allow the full event to run to completion as rains cancelled action as the Money classes began, but the Trophy classes were run to completion & will count for points. 2012 AMP Pro 1 Quads Champion Rick Lovelace started off the new season on the winning side of things as he swept both the Pro 1 & 2 Quads categories. In the Pro 1 Cars class, last year's class runner-up Gage Moore proved he's serious about improving one spot this year as he defeated defending champion Tim Feuerhelm in Round One then went on to win the class over the always tough Les Steelmon. Defending Pro 2 Cars champion David Collins continued his domination of the class by winning the first race of 2013 with his Dragster. The next event at Atoka will be on April 13. The 2013 NSRA Quality Aircraft Care Sand Drag Series continued on with the second race of the season at the SCSDA Soboba Casino Season Opener in San Jacinto, CA. The 2013 Season for the Southern California Sand Drag Association is off to a fine start as the opening event wrapped up on Sunday. The Top Alcohol class saw an intense final round as Defending class champion Gary Mink reeled off a holeshot win over Jim Hammond 2.52 to 2.50. Another defending class champion Billy Morris had a great weekend as he took the final round hole shot win by the slimmest of margins, two-thousandths of a second (.002) over Paul Taylor. The Fast Fours class struggled with attrition all weekend long, but when it all came down to it Brian Chapman & the Short Fuse team pulled off the win with a 2.90 in the final round. The Larry Minor Motorsports team put driver Geoff Gill in the Pro Mod Unlimited Winner’s Circle with a 3.05. The NSRA Bonus Bucks program kicked off at Soboba as the Pro 2 Winner earned a $500 Bonus. Wes Gilmore guided the Rattitude Jeep to the win over Chris Adamson. Other big winners on the day included Tommy Zavala (Pro 1), Charlie Johnson (Pro 3), Bo Crossland (MP1), Randy Mings (MP2), and Billy Nunno (Junior Dragster). *Run Sheets Now Posted. 3-5-13.
