National Sand Drag News - NEW National Sand Drag News (NSDN) is an online magazine covering the sport of sand drag racing. NSDN’s full array of up to the minute news and race coverage can be found online at www.NationalSandDragNews.com. Here is a brief explanation of what NSDN covers. The fast growing motor sport of sand drag racing consists of race cars that are very similar to their asphalt drag racing counterparts racing down 300 feet long (100 yard) tracks with a sand/dirt surface. The headliners of the show are the Nitro-burning Top Fuel dragsters that cross the finish line in under 2.5 seconds and reach speeds in excess of 160 MPH. Although the Top Fuel cars are the headliners of the show, multitudes of grass roots bracket racers compile the largest racer group in the sand. NSDN focuses on the hottest properties in sand drag racing, including coverage of the Pro Truck Nationals (PTN) series and other large independent events. Other large independent races across the country are also covered. NSDN covers these events with live race updates, race results, news, features, race videos, and photos. https://nsdn.us/index.php 2024-04-28T14:06:26+00:00 National Sand Drag News editor@nsdn.us Joomla! - Open Source Content Management NSDA Avenal September '09 Race Results/Updates 2009-09-27T11:54:57+00:00 2009-09-27T11:54:57+00:00 https://nsdn.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=309&catid=48&Itemid=41 Administrator editor@nsdn.us Sunday Results
Top Fuel
1st-Scott Whipple
2nd-Geoff Gill
3rd-Shane Switzer

Top Alcohol
1st-Gary Mink
2nd-Mike DeNunzio
3rd-Jeff Hitchman

Top Eliminator
1st-Tiffany Januik
2nd-Paul Taylor
3rd-Leon Januik
3rd-Jim Rossi

Sunday Results
Top Fuel
1st-Scott Whipple
2nd-Geoff Gill
3rd-Shane Switzer

Top Alcohol
1st-Gary Mink
2nd-Mike DeNunzio
3rd-Jeff Hitchman

Top Eliminator
1st-Tiffany Januik
2nd-Paul Taylor
3rd-Leon Januik
3rd-Jim Rossi

WMSD September 26 Sportsman Extravaganza Race Results 2009-09-27T11:53:23+00:00 2009-09-27T11:53:23+00:00 https://nsdn.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=308&catid=48&Itemid=41 Administrator editor@nsdn.us Race Results
Sportsman 1 (Sportsman Extravaganza Class - $500 to win)
1st-Jon Sorg
2nd-Kurt Koopman
3rd-Tom Hartman

Sportsman 2 (Sportsman Extravaganza Class - $500 to win)
1st-Tom Bray
2nd-Dave Weaver
3rd-Mike Moll
3rd-Dylan Beld

ATV (Sportsman Extravaganza Class - $500 to win)
1st-Matt Ewing
2nd-Steve Ewing
3rd-Bob Ramlow

Race Results
Sportsman 1 (Sportsman Extravaganza Class - $500 to win)
1st-Jon Sorg
2nd-Kurt Koopman
3rd-Tom Hartman

Sportsman 2 (Sportsman Extravaganza Class - $500 to win)
1st-Tom Bray
2nd-Dave Weaver
3rd-Mike Moll
3rd-Dylan Beld

ATV (Sportsman Extravaganza Class - $500 to win)
1st-Matt Ewing
2nd-Steve Ewing
3rd-Bob Ramlow

TVSD Show Me Fall Nats Results 2009-09-23T23:36:49+00:00 2009-09-23T23:36:49+00:00 https://nsdn.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=307&catid=48&Itemid=41 Administrator editor@nsdn.us Race Results
Blown Alcohol
1st-#3 Josh Stephens

Top Eliminator
1st-#8 Tim Hatfield

Pro Comp
1st-#414 John Dreher, DI: 3.60, RT: .104, ET: 3.60
2nd-#444 Brent Harpor, DI: 3.75, RT: .068, ET: 3.89

Race Results
Blown Alcohol
1st-#3 Josh Stephens

Top Eliminator
1st-#8 Tim Hatfield

Pro Comp
1st-#414 John Dreher, DI: 3.60, RT: .104, ET: 3.60
2nd-#444 Brent Harpor, DI: 3.75, RT: .068, ET: 3.89

Tulsa Sand Drags Sept 26 & Oct 3 Flyer 2009-09-15T15:35:23+00:00 2009-09-15T15:35:23+00:00 https://nsdn.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=303&catid=48&Itemid=41 Administrator editor@nsdn.us Tulsa Motocross Park & Sand Drag Raceway had a rain out on September 19. It was an amazing couple of weekends of racing action at both Ionia Sand Drags and WMSD. Let’s quickly list some of the highlights: the first 2.4 second ET outside of the west coast, a 220+ entry weekend at WMSD, 23 Pro Truck entries at the season finale, Josh Stephens running 3.0’s like a bracket car with his 4x4 Altered, Bob Gill resetting the A/Pro Jeep record nearly breaking into the 2’s with a 3.007 at Ionia, Ryan Wilson and Dan Wies batting around the B/4WD record both weekends, and a Pro Truck class championship decided on the last pass of the season. Not only did the last pass of the season in the Pro Truck class 2009 PTN season decide the championship, the margin of victory for Ben Dozeman was a mere one-thousandth of a second (.001). All this and I’d be remiss to not mention all of the racers that came in from across the country (California, Arizona, New Mexico, Missouri, Kentucky, Ohio, etc.).

BY: TOM BRAY

The month of July saw some amazing racing in the state of Michigan.
