The 2013 edition of the Dome Valley Raceway Top Fuel Shootout is complete after a great final day of sand drags at the Wellton, AZ track. Matthew Ludlow and the Coldwater Kid Top Fuel team became three-time TF Shootout champions as they took the win with a 2.35/169MPH blast in the final round. The Top Alcohol racers put on a great show with Gary Mink taking the win by mere inches in a great battle with Rod Trower 2.47 to 2.51. The 2012 TE champion Billy Morris started off his title defense in great form as he took the win light in a double break out final round over Dee Trower 2.90 to 2.86. Fast Fours was another great race as the 2012 class champion Aaron Mamer got the job done in the Sidewinder as he took a hole shot victory over Robert Skidmore 2.93 to 2.92. Missouri was well represented as Russ Bailey took the Pro Outlaw FE win in a great battle with Marc Whitmore 3.16 to 3.14, while fellow Missourian Dennis Burrows steered his VW-powered Buggy to the Pro 1 victory. Sunday’s biggest winner was Chris Adamson as he drove the “Bounty Hunter” to a Sunday double as he won both the Pro 2 and Pro 3 categories. Combined with his own win on Friday in Pro Truck and son Justin’s win on Saturday in Open Pro, the “Bounty Hunter” Jeep won 4 of the 5 categories it was entered in. Marc Ratliff continued his successful weekend as he won the Motorcycle Pro 1 category, and former Motorcycle Pro 2 class champion Joey Weaver was back in the groove as he took the Season Opening class win. *Run Sheets are now posted. The 2013 NSRA Quality Aircraft Care Sand Drag Racing Series kicks off this weekend at Dome Valley Raceway with the 4th Annual Top Fuel Shootout. Details for the series have been released and are available to view on the “NSRA Point Series” link on the left sidebar of this site, or click this link, 2013 NSRA Point Series.

The 2013 NSRA Quality Aircraft Care Sand Drag Series has announced its race schedule for the upcoming season. The series will consist of six events across the Southwest. The champion in each category will be crowned based upon their best five finishes from the season. Tracks included in the 2013 series are Dome Valley Raceway (Wellton, AZ), Southern California Sand Drag Association/Soboba Casino (San Jacinto, CA), Avenal Sand Drags (Avenal, CA) and one yet to be named track that will host the Season Finale. Stay tuned for further announcements regarding the 2013 NSRA point series.

January 25-27 - Dome Valley Raceway (Wellton, AZ) - Top Fuel Shootout
March 1-3 - Soboba Casino (San Jacinto, CA) - SCSDA
March 23-24 - Dome Valley Raceway (Wellton, AZ) - March Madness
April 27-28 - Avenal Sand Drags (Avenal, CA) - Avenal Sand Drags
October 4-6 - Soboba Casino (San Jacinto, CA) - SCSDA

The 2012 NSRA Quality Aircraft Care Sand Drag Series awards will be distributed on Saturday night after the racing is completed at the upcoming Dome Valley Raceway Top Fuel Shootout on January 26. Dome Valley Raceway’s Top Fuel Shootout event will be the first race of the 2013 NSRA Quality Aircraft Care Sand Drag Racing Series. Full details on the 2013 series are being finalized and will be released very soon.
