The 2011 October Showdown wrapped up on Saturday with some amazing racing action. Jeff Janoe made it two Top Fuel victories in a row with a final round defeat of Terri Blair in a 2.46 to 2.60 battle. The Top Alcohol final round saw Scott Carroll take his second class victory of the 2011 season defeating Gary Mink in a close 2.59 to 2.61 match up. Brian Chapman topped off an amazing weekend of racing in the Fast Fours class with a great 2.83 to 2.82 hole shot win over Art Cronin. The Bad Toy team of Jim Rossi came away with a great 2.99 final round victory over first time TE finalist Pat Headington. Missouri’s Dennis Burrows took home the Pro 1victory with a final round win over Kermit Larby. Keith Ahart stole the show in Motocycle Pro 1 defeating Brad Olson in the final round. Other bracket winners on the night include Steve Anthony (Pro 2), Arend Schouten (Pro 3), Wes Smith (Motorcycle Pro 2 & ATV Gambler), and Russ Bailey (Pro Cars Gambler). Day one of the 2011 October Showdown is complete. Jeff Janoe & the JWJ Team laid down a great 2.373/155MPH blast to take the top qualifying spot in the Top Fuel class. The Lucas Oil Team of Dan Allen took the Top Alcohol top spot with a 2.60. The Fast Fours class saw some amazing times with Art Cronin running a sizzling 2.792 to sit #1 after two rounds while the first pass in qualifying saw Brian Chapman run 2.799 to take the $500 bounty put up by Hammer Down Racing for the first 2.7 of the season. Top Eliminator qualifying was led by Jim Rossi with a 2.979. Garrett Ratliff was the big winner in the bracket classes on the night taking both the Motorcycle Sportsman 1 & 2 categories. Other big winners included Jose Beas (Open Pro), Lance Root (Motorcycle Open Pro), John Cronin (Sportsman 1), and Tyler Large (Sportsman 2).
